This place is famous for a reason: part thematic park, part animal reserve, part beach, Xcaret manages to balance nature and fun with conservation, while they also show the essence of the Mexican Caribbean experience. More than 600,000 visitors come here every year to learn about the ecology of the area and to delve into Mayan history. There are so many attractions in Xcaret that it is difficult to know where to start. Relax on the beach, float by one of the two underground rivers, swim with dolphins (a fee applies regardless of the park’s admission fee), or stroll along the trails wrapped in the jungle –do one or do everything! There are many restaurants, bars, swimming equipment rental areas and souvenir shops.
